Matti Suokko

Honorary Consul of Finland for the states of Washington , Montana and Idaho.

Matti Suokko is the Honorary Consul of Finland for the states of Washington, Montana, and Idaho. He has served in this capacity since 2000 and was appointed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland. As the Honorary Consul, Mr. Suokko formally represents Finland and its government across the three states.

Born and raised in Finland, Mr. Suokko moved to the U.S. in 1993 to work at Microsoft Corporation, where he served in several product management, marketing, and business development leadership roles for 21 years over the past three decades. While at Microsoft, he led a multi-year integration process for the $1.2 billion acquisition of Fast Search & Transfer company, previously headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Mr. Suokko founded Inventio LLC, a consulting firm specializing in North American market access and innovation services. He has successfully launched several Finnish and international companies on their entry into the North American market. Mr. Suokko studied in the Master of Science program at the Tampere University of Technology in Finland, majoring in computer engineering.

The President of Finland has awarded him the decoration of Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland.
